Overview

The Type B power plug and outlet are commonly used in North America, Central America, and some parts of Asia. The plug features an additional grounding pin for improved electrical safety.

Plug and Outlet Design

The Type B plug consists of two flat parallel prongs for live and neutral connections, along with a round grounding pin. It is compatible with Type A outlets, but Type A plugs cannot be used in Type B outlets unless they have a ground pin slot.
