Privacy policy

What we collect

What Power Plug does not ask you to register, log in or submit personal information to read a page. We do not sell data, and we do not build profiles of individual readers.

Like most websites, we receive standard technical information when you load a page: the type of device and browser, the approximate location derived from your IP address, the pages you visit and the site that referred you. Our web server also keeps access logs for security and troubleshooting.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful and where the site is slow. It sets cookies and reports aggregated statistics. Google’s own privacy policy governs that data. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Advertising

Pages carry advertising served by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies, including the DoubleClick cookie, to serve ads based on your previous visits to this and other websites.

  • You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
  • You can opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.
  • In the EEA and UK, consent is collected through Google’s certified consent management platform.

Affiliate links

Some pages recommend specific products, such as travel adapters and voltage converters, and link to them on Amazon. Those are affiliate links: if you follow one and buy something, we may receive a small commission from Amazon at no extra cost to you. We are a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program.

  • We do not receive any information about who clicked, what you bought, or how much you spent. Amazon reports only aggregate numbers, such as how many orders resulted from the site in a month.
  • Once you follow a link to Amazon, Amazon’s own privacy policy and cookie policy apply. Amazon may set cookies to attribute the sale, including its own advertising cookies.
  • You can avoid affiliate tracking by navigating to the retailer directly rather than through a link on this site. The information on this site is identical either way.
  • Commission does not influence which products we list. Every recommendation states the product’s limits, including when an adapter does not convert voltage.

Other third parties

  • Cloudflare — content delivery and security; processes requests at the edge.
  • OpenStreetMap — maps on country pages, loaded only when you scroll to them.

Cookies you control

You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking advertising cookies does not stop the ads, it only makes them less relevant.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA, UK, Switzerland or a jurisdiction with similar laws, you have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to processing. Because we hold no accounts, most requests will resolve to “we hold only standard server logs”.
