Power in Afghanistan
Afghanistan is a landlocked country in Central Asia where the electricity supply is unreliable and much of the population is not connected to a grid. Power that does reach homes comes largely from imported electricity and from hydroelectric plants such as Naglu and Mahipar, backed up by diesel generators. Outages are frequent, and voltage can fluctuate widely, so surge protection is worth carrying.
