What the sockets look like
Power in Somalia
Somalia, located in the Horn of Africa, is a country with a challenging power infrastructure due to decades of conflict and instability. Somalia uses Type C and Type G power plugs. The standard voltage is 220 V and the supply frequency is 50 Hz. Major power generation sources include diesel generators, which are widely used, and increasingly, solar power due to its abundant sunlight. Despite these efforts, the power grid's reliability remains poor, with frequent outages and limited access to electricity in rural areas. Efforts to improve the infrastructure are ongoing, but significant challenges remain in ensuring consistent and widespread electricity supply.
