What Type H looks like in use

Type H was designed for Israel in the 1970s and is used almost nowhere else. The three flat pins sit in a Y, with the earth below or above depending on the socket generation.

Newer sockets have a round recess that accepts both the old flat-pin Type H plug and the European Europlug, which is why Type C chargers work in Israel without an adapter.

Watch out: Type H sockets accept Type H and Type C plugs. Appliances from Europe may fit but will not be earthed unless they use the H shape.
